Chemical - Free Cookware
Perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA) is a chemical compound part of the group of toxic chemicals known as perfluorinated alkylated substances (PFAS). This acid is a Persistent Organic Pollutant (POP) that can be released into the environment when exposed to high temperatures. Some non – stick cookware uses PFOA as a component and can result in contamination and exposure. PFOA can bioaccumulate in the body and lead to severe health conditions such as kidney damage, liver damage and heart disease.
When selecting utensils and cookware, be sure to consider PFOA or PFOS free options!
