Training Manual on the Environmentally Sound Management and Disposal of Persistent Organic Pollutants (POPs)
Under the GEF 5558 project entitled The Development and Implementation of a Sustainable Management Mechanism for Persistent Organic Pollutants (POPs) in the Caribbean, the BCRC-Caribbean developed this Training Manual on the Environmentally Sound Management and Disposal of Persistent Organic Pollutants (POPs). The manual is primarily based on the findings of a regional training needs assessment that was conducted in the eight (8) project countries – Antigua and Barbuda, Barbados, Belize, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Suriname and Trinidad and Tobago. This training manual aims to build the capacity within the respective countries to store, handle and dispose of Persistent Organic Pollutants (POPs) in an environmentally sound manner using the Best Available Technologies (BAT) and Best Environmental Practices (BEP).
