The BCRC-Caribbean, in collaboration with the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) and the University of Natural Resources and Applied Life Sciences (BOKU) located in Vienna, Austria, is currently executing a project titled, ‘Management of E-Waste in Guyana, Suriname and Trinidad and Tobago’. This project will analyse trends in e-waste generation and current e-waste management practices and aims to develop a feasible sub-regional solution to improve the management of e-waste for the Caribbean.
The BCRC-Caribbean is seeking to engage a suitably qualified individual in Suriname to provide services as the National Project Assistant (NPA). The NPA will be required to engage with key national stakeholders, the other project consultants, and Suriname’s National Working Group to develop a national e-waste assessment report for Suriname, which highlights the existing national framework for e-waste management and recommendations for improving national e-waste management practices, considering the integration of Suriname into a feasible e-waste recovery and disposal programme.
