[DEADLINE EXTENDED] Request for Proposals – End of Life Vehicles (ELVs) Management Consulting Team

The GEF-funded programme – Implementing Sustainable Low and Non-Chemical Development in Small Island Developing States (GEF ISLANDS) seeks to address the sound management of chemicals and waste in Least Developed Countries (LDCs) and Small Island Developing States (SIDS). This ISLANDS Programme covers four (4) geographical regions including the Caribbean, Indian Ocean, Pacific Islands, and Atlantic Ocean Islands, and is being implemented by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), The United Nations Food and Agricultural Organisation (FAO) and the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB).

The Basel Convention Regional Centre for Training and Technology Transfer for the Caribbean (BCRC-Caribbean) is currently executing two (2) Caribbean Child Projects:

  • GEF 10279, which involves nine (9) countries (Antigua and Barbuda, Barbados, Belize, Dominican Republic, Guyana, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, Suriname and Trinidad and Tobago); and
  • GEF 10472, which involves three (3) countries (The Bahamas, Cuba and Dominica).

Please note that as the environmentally sound management of ELVs is not a priority activity for Cuba, this country will not be participating directly in this activity. The project briefs and documents are included in the RFP package.

We are seeking to recruit a suitably qualified and experienced End of Life Vehicles (ELVs) Management Consulting Team with the overall objective to assess the management of ELVs in the eleven (11) project countries and to design an environmentally sound scheme to improve regional and national capacity for the management of ELVs.
