Based on the United Nations Environment Assembly (UNEA) Resolutions 1/6 “Marine plastic debris and microplastics”, 2/11 “Marine plastic litter and microplastics”, 3/7 “Marine litter and microplastics”, 4/6 “Marine plastic litter and microplastics” and 5/14 “End Plastic Pollution: Towards an international legally binding instrument” of the UNEA, the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) has developed this project entitled “Capacity development to catalyze actions and commitments at the national and global level to reduce plastic pollution including in the marine environment” to support countries most in need; including from the Asia-Pacific States, African States and Group of Latin America and Caribbean (GRULAC) States, such as Trinidad and Tobago. The project aims to support countries to undertake enabling activities that catalyse actions and commitments at the national and global level to reduce plastic pollution, including in the marine environment.
The BCRC-Caribbean is seeking to engage a suitably qualified Consultancy Team (Waste Expert, Legislative Expert and Project Assistant) to support the work under the project in Trinidad and Tobago.
Open to: Teams based in the Caribbean, with at least one (1) team member (the Project Assistant) based in Trinidad and Tobago.
