On April 23rd 2018 the Saint Vincent and the Grenadines National Inception Workshop for the project “Development of Minamata Initial Assessment for the Caribbean (Antigua and Barbuda, Dominica, Grenada and Saint Vincent and the Grenadines)” was held at the National Insurance Services.
This workshop was held by the BCRC-Caribbean in collaboration with the Ministry of Finance, Economic Planning, Sustainable Development, and Information Technology of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines to introduce key national stakeholders to the project.
The objective of the project is to facilitate the ratification and early implementation of the Minamata Convention which contributes to the protection of human health and the environment from the risks posed by unintentional and intentional emissions and releases of mercury from anthropogenic sources; as well as unsound use and management of mercury.
